True-cost checker
The headline fee is only part of the cost. Enter what each provider quotes you for the same amount and see what you really lose against the latest daily mid-market rate. Nothing you type leaves your device.
Total cost = fee on top + the leones lost against the mid-market rate, shown as a percentage of the amount sent. Example rows are illustrative, not real quotes. Mid-market rates come from open.er-api.com and are indicative.
What your recipient needs
- A valid photo ID. The name must match the name you entered, letter for letter.
- The reference number (often called MTCN or PIN) that the provider gives you after you pay.
- The name and address of the agent where the cash is available. Confirm the agent is open and has cash.
Protect against fraud
- Share the reference number only with the intended recipient, by a channel you trust.
- No genuine provider asks the recipient to pay a ‘release fee’ before collecting. This is a common scam.
- Never send money to a stranger who says they are an official, a lottery or a job agent.
- Keep your receipt until the recipient confirms collection.
Cost and timing
- Cash pickup often has the widest gap between mid-market and the quoted rate.
- Funds are usually available the same day once your payment clears, but weekend and holiday hours vary.
- If your recipient has a phone, mobile money is often cheaper and faster. Ask before choosing cash.
Compare the real cost first
Whatever the payout method, the same rule applies: ask each provider for the leones your recipient will receive for the same amount, then use the checker above to see the total cost.

Frequently asked questions
Can my recipient collect without ID?
No. Reputable providers require valid photo ID whose name matches the transfer. Ask the recipient to bring the original ID.
What if the agent has no cash?
Contact the provider’s support with the reference number. Agents in smaller towns can run out of banknotes, so ask the recipient to check with the agent first.

How we work. Globe2Me is not paid by any provider named on this page and does not move money. We rank options by how you can measure their real cost, not by who pays us. If we add affiliate links in future they will be labelled and rankings will not change. Fees, rates and coverage change often: always confirm the final leones amount on the provider’s own checkout before you pay. This page is general information, not financial advice.
